Merry Christmas!
What I learned from 2010

think on these things

image2057045544.jpgWe celebrate today the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the Reason for the Season!

As I have sat for most of the day by our fire watching our children play with all the new toys they received, I find myself in a very reflective and emotional state of mind. It's interesting that when I have time to reflect like today, I don't seem to feel the sting of past failures, struggles, frustrations, disappointments, and heartache. I'm overwhelmed with how blessed I am to have the family I have- two healthy children and a loving husband. I'm thankful that 2010 is coming to a close and that a New Year is upon us with all the possibilities and experiences ahead of us. I'm thankful for the home we are blessed with and the beautiful Island that we enjoy living on everyday. I'm thankful for my mom, dad, sisters, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins that have shared their lives and their love with me through my life's journey. I find such peace in the intangibles of my life-love, joy, friendship, and family.

And when I think of my Savior Jesus Christ and what He did for me -giving me eternal life through His birth and death on a cross for my sins-I feel the way Helen H. Lemmel did when she wrote these wonderful words in 1922...

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
and the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace."
