Divine Interruption

I heard this phrase from Dino Rizzo at the Multi-site Conference last week. He asked us as church leaders if we were willing to lead into Divine Interruption.  Are we willing to approach each day and ask for God to "interrupt us" with Divine appointments with people and situations.  I have to say this is a hard one for me.  As a wife, mother, daughter, sister of 2, church staff member - life is interruption.  I like order, somewhat of a schedule, and checking off a to-do list...you can see my conundrum. The funny thing is I am trying to be aware of this and it is happening.  I have had a few "interruptions" this week and I am seeing the Divine appointment in all of them.  The phone conversation I didn't have time to have, the waiting in line that led to another conversation, the e-mail I didn't really have time to respond to - all these things have shown me more about God's agenda and how silly mine actually is.

Are you willing to ask for Divine Interruptions?

God at work

Img_8078 2 of my band guys got baptized on Sunday night at our Beach Baptism.  I nearly lost my life trying to film them and take pictures in the waves! Words cannot express how excited I am to see what God is doing in the hearts of our team...to not just be doing the "music thing", but to really see authentic community with God and each other. This has just been a big week of answered prayers in my life on a personal level as well as in ministry...I'm just taking it all in.

What is God up to in your life?

Sunday Recap

I'm a part of Sunday Setlists! Join us!

It's happening...we are really starting to see some life-change at our campus and people getting excited about going to the next level in their walk with God wherever they are (we had one person accept Christ in the service!) Bill and Randy in the band decided to get baptized last night at our BIG beach baptism...I was ecstatic!  I'll share their videos and pics later this week. Our band is really clicking and starting to really "find the groove" together.  It was such a musical day (you know what I mean).  We wrapped up our MAD Missions month with the intro of our new team leader for global missions on our campus, Doug Socie. CLICK HERE to see a video about his recent trip to the Gulf Coast. Here was our songlist...
"Happy Day" - Hughes
"Marvelous Light" - Hall
"Here is Our King" - Crowder
"To the Ends of the Earth" - Hillsongs

Unplugged

Img_8051 It is very difficult for me to be without my phone, computer, TV...but this week, Todd and I got away for 3 days and that's what we did.  We attended a ministry couples marriage retreat at The Cove in beautiful Asheville, NC.  The leaves were changing, the temperature was in the 50's...aaahhh. If you have the opportunity to attend anything at the Cove, do it.  The mountains, the design of the retreat center, the food...all of it is such a complement to the spiritual encouragement you will receive.  Unplugging is so important.  It is never convenient and is so difficult to do, but the reward is immeasurable.  I love to work and I love my life, but I needed rest and it was long overdue. If you need rest, do it. It is just going to get worse and there will never be a good time to get away.
