Playing and Singing

Having a 20 month old has made me see the world through her eyes.  Last night, I played the guitar and sang some of her favorite Laurie Berkner songs.  The simplest thing like singing a song and dancing made her whole night - she didn't want to stop!  What a reminder to me as a musician of the power of music to move a matter your age, season of life, or if your favorite food is french fries...

"Artist as Reconcilers" - IAM Conference Countdown

Since moving to NYC in December, I have been privileged to be connected to an amazing organization that is REALLY impacting the arts culture.  (International Arts Movement) This weekend is their conference here in NYC at Cooper Union.  Oddly enough, this is also the location where not-yet-President  Abraham Lincoln gave his famous speech on February 27, 1860 on slavery (Cooper Union Address)...How fitting for this location to once again be a venue of challenging thought and discussion...see you there!
